ACCEPTANCE

Its often an high school dream to be famous and be the person everyone wants to hang out with. No one wants to be seen as a duff or be the dude that’s laughed at. The void could have been made by the people whom you had great expectation of acceptance, like a mother, sibling or pastor.

I once struggled with wanting to be loved by everyone, defined myself with their perspective of me. I felt beautiful when they so, I felt I wasn’t smart enough cos someone said that. Sometimes the same person could have varying opinions on different days, quite unstable as the waters.

The problem however lies in the misnomer of esteeming people’s opinion above God’s. Accepting people perspective of us above the one person who has and has puts the breathe in our nostrils.

Nobody’s opinion of anything or anyone can be as important as that of the most important being in the universe. And here is what He says:

“...having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He MADE US ACCEPTED in the Beloved”

Eph 1:5-6

In actual fact, that’s the one person whose opinion really matters... the most.
